Now, there’s another contender in this universe of popup link browser that wants to make a name. It’s called Flyperlink. And we’re gonna compare it with the revamped Brave Browser.
User Interface
There’s not much to tell about the UI of a popup link browser but little things can matter a lot. The UI looks similar in both browsers but you can see few more addons in the UI of Brave. There’s a quick shortcut to share the link and shortcut to the most used web browser. Whereas in Flyperlink you won’t find the quick share button. That’s buried under the three dots menu. Talking about sharing you can also share it by dragging the bubble icon. You get more option to choose in Brave with shortcuts. You can choose a specific app to share. In Flyperlink, it’s just a share button (but, can be changed to other available options). Also, the top bar adapts to the color of the website on both browsers. Brave adapts the darker shade of website’s primary color. Whereas Flyperlink keeps it the same.
Speed
The UI transition worked nicely in both apps. The Link loading speed gave the following result. I opened Guiding Tech Website on both apps and data rate of 512Kbps (lowest) and these were the results when the website was fully loaded (without clearing cache). Brave: 12.56 seconds Flyperlink: 7.12 seconds In RAM usage, Flyperlink used 14.1MB and Brave used 7MB. Though, the UI got sluggish when multiple tabs were opened in both apps.
Security
Link Bubble started out without out any security features but after it got acquired, Brave brought in HTTPS. So, you get the option to browse the web in HTTPS. Whereas in Flyperlink, you get no such security (not even in the paid version). There is Adblock available in both browsers. Along with that Flyperlink has one more feature to turn off Javascript. This is helpful if you tend to access websites that generate in-page popups.
Unique Features
Here, I’ll present some features that are present in one app and not present in the other.
Flyperlink
Chrome Custom Tabs

Bookmarks and Shortcuts
Flyperlink gives you the feature add bookmarks which you can access from the app. Brave doesn’t give you bookmarks but what it gives is History of all the links you’ve opened. By the way, you can save links to Pocket instead. Shortcuts is another unique feature in Flyperlink that places a shortcut of the website (or any link) on the home screen of your Android Launcher. Firefox-Like Tab Management
When you turn on the option to open links in the same bubble then you get this precious tab management done in Firefox style. Brave opens links in a sperate bubble. It does show collectively all link in the same bubble when minimized.

You get to change how the bubble looks in Brave. You can make it go light or dark. In Flyperlink, all you get is changing the size of the bubble.
Battery Saving Mode
The feature is in beta testing. But, it works well. The default is set to aggressive which means that it will use less Android resource when the bubble is minimized. And that is why you’ll find Brave using less RAM in comparison to Flyperlink.
Reading Mode and Other Tiny Features
There’s a reading mode that shows you the required text and images only. Also, if use Android wear then you get an option for that too. There’s a feature expand the link automatically when the link gets fully loaded. Other than that you can zoom text to a certain percentage. There’s also an incognito mode that will track no history or cookies.
Which to Use?
So, after all of this comparison, the main question arises. Which one should you use? It all depends on which app satisfies your need. Speaking of my needs, I want an app that saves battery, good tab management (I tend to open too many tabs) and customization. Brave browser provides me all of this.
