A good two months and four updates later, the OnePlus 5 is steadily bringing in finesse and improvements, especially the camera tech. For one, the OnePlus 5 had debuted without any camera stabilization techniques but now proudly boasts of EIS. On August 30, a new Oxygen OS update was rolled out — version 4.5.10 and this again revolved mainly around camera tech, while also addressing a few display and scrolling issues. So what implications will this update have on the users? Well, let’s find out.
1. Get More Camera Clarity
The OnePlus 5 captures crisp images during normal light conditions but in low-light conditions, the camera quality tends to go down a bit. Post the new update, OnePlus 5 users can expect better pictures and images sans the noise. Another area of improvement is the camera stability, thus saving you from taking bad shots.
2. Clearer Videos Too
Changes are in the video department as well. With the Oxygen OS 4.5.10 update, the videos recorded at 60 fps are expected to be clearer, minus the noise. However, it goes without saying that no amount of clearer or noise-free videos can compensate for the lack of OIS or EIS in the videos recorded at 60 fps. So, your videos might be clearer but with a fair amount of wobbliness thrown in.
3. Watermark Your Location
For the globe trotter in you, OnePlus has included a unique feature which will let you put your location in photographs. So, from now on, not only will a picture have the location marked in but you’ll also be saved from diving into the image details to look for location info. OnePlus 5 is the first device from OnePlus which sport a dual camera setup and the watermark is the courtesy of this new feature.
4. Improved WiFi Stability
WiFi stability issues have been an ongoing issue with OnePlus 5 phones. In fact, this issue can be seen even in the older OnePlus 3 and 3T. The WiFi connection would drop the second you step a little away from the router vicinity. The new update has addressed this issue. Hopefully, it makes its way to the OnePlus 3T as well. It’s worth mentioning here that fixes for the WiFi issues were sent in the version 4.5.7.
Have You Updated?
These were some of the notable features of the latest update of the OnePlus 5. It measures around 85 MB in size and brought in other fixes related to scrolling issues in Google Play Music and display issues in the new fonts.
